Art. A very broad part of our world that deals with the beauty of our world and about different aspects of life. Art is a world in itself, a world as round and full of changeable things as the world we live in and like the Earth, is built up of many distinct parts. Some of it are paintings, sculptures, and structural designs. Some are plain, other complex, and some are even controversial.
One controversial work of art is Leonardo da Vinci's panting, "Mona Lisa". The so called 'enigmatic smile' of Madam Lisa in the painting are still boggling the minds of many art critics and many people of what may be the reason behind the smile. For me, the smile on the mademoiselle's face may have been made because she is seeing or thinking something happy making her smile. She may have seen the painter, Leonardo,did a lot of funny things or Leonardo might be telling her jokes or telling her stories that made her remember something happy or funny, thus making her smile.
Art is one of the oldest inventions, even older than the first village. It is present in almost every part of our everyday life. From the music that we hear while taking a bath in the morning up to the TV drama show that we watch before going to sleep. It is a very important part of our world. It is one of the reflections of the different kinds of life that each and everyone of us have. We should cherish it for the generations to come for them to bask in the beauty of art, beauty of our world, and the complexity of life.
History. A subject that mos people hates because of so many dates,
places, and people that we have to remember that are being studied in
this subject. But for me, History is exciting because it takes you to
wonderful places without leaving the classroom and lets you know about
interesting facts about the past that helped in shaping the world today.
But most of all, it lest us know important people and how they helped
in changing the course of history because of their deeds.
If I could meet a historical person, i want it to be King Leonidas, a
former king of Sparta, Greece. He is a very bold and valiant king who
sacrificed his life for the sake of his motherland, Greece. We would
hangout on the swing at our backyard and talk about his battle against
the Persian army of Xerxes and how every male child of Sparta is trained
to become a skillful warrior, while eating spaghetti. Then, I will
teach him how to play the role playing game called Defense of the
Ancients or DOTA and he will be amazed because there are characters who
are Greek mythical creatures and a character named Zeus who is the
Greeks chief god.
The past is like the childhood of the
present. Like our childhood, the past contains happy and sad memories,
but mostly of fun and excitement. It is fun to study it for it tells
lessons about life. They say that "History repeats itself", but I don't
believe it. Because History contains bad happenings, and we could avoid
repeating the mistakes of History if we just study it, and make the
right decision that will change our future for the better.
